Buddy Day

On January 3, 2023, the first day of school after the Christmas vacations got off to a particularly exciting start for the two fourth-grade classes at the International Primary School Stollberg: Together with their class teachers, they walked from Stollberg to Niederwürschnitz to experience the first cooperative Buddy Day between the IPS Stollberg and the International Schools Niederwürschnitz.

The two fifth grade classes of the International Schools Niederwürschnitz, together with their subject teachers, prepared four exciting stations at which the primary school pupils of the International Primary School were given an insight into the future subjects at secondary schools.
Regardless of the type of school, there was a lot to discover - and the pupils, divided into four groups, changed every quarter of an hour so that they could visit each station once.

There were exciting exhibits to marvel at in the biology room and the older pupils explained the internal and external structure of a fish to the younger ones.
At a second station, there were insights into various languages, e.g. Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Chinese, and together with their "buddies" from the older classes, the 4th graders skillfully mastered various language games in Spanish.
In the "Humanities" station, the focus was primarily on the subject of history, where there were many exciting facts about the Stone Age to learn. The fifth-graders proudly presented the Stone Age artifacts they had built themselves during the autumn vacations. The fourth graders were amazed to see that history is not only theoretical, but also practical.
At station four, the deputy principal Ms. Vogel presented the secondary school and the grammar school and listened to the primary school pupils' questions. The fifth-graders also answered questions from the pupils' perspective.

Full of new impressions and looking forward to secondary school, the primary school pupils made their way back to the elementary school after the subsequent school tour, during which they were able to marvel at the school kitchen, the specialist cabinets and the gymnasium, among other things.
