The International Schools Niederwürschnitz were one of fewer than 50 schools nationwide to be included in the "ZDF goes Schule" education program—selected from over 500 applications. The partnership particularly strengthens the media literacy of the students and provides direct insights into journalistic work and media production.
Our young people gained their first shared experiences at the Silbersalz Festival in Halle, where they discussed fundamental rights with ZDF presenter Mirko Drotschmann.
They also got an exclusive look behind the scenes during a backstage tour of the ZDF Advent concert in Dresden's Frauenkirche, including insights into directing, technology, and rehearsals.
Another special highlight was a live video call to Antarctica to "Mission Penguin, " where our students were able to talk directly with the expedition team about climate research and filming on site.
The partnership opens up new perspectives for our school and shows that even a school in a small community can be part of a nationwide education project.
